Capcom Wins the Commissioner of Japan Patent Office Award for
Corporate Utilization of Intellectual Property (Trademarks)
in the 2025 Intellectual Property Distinguished Service Awards!

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that it was honored with the Commissioner of Japan Patent Office Award for Corporate Utilization of Intellectual Property (Trademarks), recognizing it as an excellent company for its utilization of the intellectual property rights system in the 2025 Intellectual Property Distinguished Service Awards hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Patent Office. The Intellectual Property Distinguished Service Award is an award presented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Patent Office to individuals who have contributed to the development, dissemination, and promotion of Japan’s intellectual property rights system, as well as to companies that have actively utilized the intellectual property rights system.
Capcom has received the Commissioner of Japan Patent Office Award for Corporate Utilization of Intellectual Property (Trademarks) in the Intellectual Property Distinguished Service Awards for effectively utilizing the intellectual property rights system and contributing to its smooth operation and development. Capcom was praised for its strengthened digital sales, resulting in over 290 game titles sold in over 230*1 countries and regions, and its possession of 6,000*2 domestic and international trademarks, leading to it being honored with this award. Additionally, Capcom was recognized for its Single Content Multiple Usage strategy, which involves the multifaceted use of trademarks and other intellectual property derived from game software in goods and services, and for pioneering the use of AI for checking trademarks in the industry.
Moreover, in January of this year, Capcom received the Special Award in the Intellectual Property and Intangible Asset Governance Awards, hosted by the Intellectual Property and Intangible Asset Governance Promotion Association. Capcom was lauded as one of the few Japanese companies with high profitability and continuous improvement of corporate value through the utilization of intellectual property and intangible assets.
